One of the most famous recipes of Irish cuisine is Soda Bread. It’s simple, easy, quick to make and has a unique flavor and aroma.
I love enjoying soda bread warm with butter and jam, avocado or scrambled eggs.
It’s traditionally made using whole wheat flour, buttermilk or sour milk, salt and soda.
I replaced buttermilk with plain milk cream and added some pinhead oatmeal as per Jamie Oliver’s advice.
It turned out so good you’ll see how good it is once you make it yourself.
Almost forgot, before baking Irish would cut a cross on the top to ward off the devil, and protect their household 🙂 how sweet is that <3
