When I first visited Albanik Farm, 3 years ago l got amazed by the place, simple, cozy, warm and friendly.

Elona, an amazing Albanian girl, and Madjid, a very interesting French gentleman run the place. Almost 5 years ago, they decide to exchange the city life for the village life and built their own farm and guesthouse. The story is for sure much more complicated and romantic, but I’ll let you ask them yourself when you visit the farm.

A glass of wine by the fire, some great music selected by Madjid and the sweetest cat I had met (Trafik) were enough to make me want to come back, anyhow this was not all.

Soon I discovered Madjid was a great home-cook, who combines together the sophisticated French techniques with the amazing Middle Eastern ingredients and spices. Being the foodie that I am, I got fascinated. At that time I didn’t know how to cook but had just started leaving on my own and experimenting with food.

I asked Madjid so many questions about every dish I tasted, and he was a great help.

Madjid shared with me the idea of a cooking workshop for beginners and I was so happy. Other projects were in queue, then Albanik Farm changed their location from Elbasan to Permet and the workshop got somehow postponed by 3 years ?

But here we are, Madjid and Elona are hosting the first cooking workshop for beginners and I would be more than happy to join them as co-host, covering the easy dessert part.

The workshop takes place in Albanik Farm on 2-4 March.

Below you may find all the details and the workshop program. For any questions related to the program contact me or Albanik Farm, for any questions related to the hosting premises, payment details and timings please refer to Albanik Farm. Hurry up, the places are limited.

Welcome to Mandarina Yum!

mmMy name is Ejona Varangu and I am a full time researcher in the telecommunication industry, and part time food blogger. I blog from a small apartment in Tirana, Albania, where I live with my better half and our two cats Weirdo and Pixel.

I started cooking in late 2013, when I decided to live alone, and I missed the great homemade dishes that my mum prepared, before that, I couldn’t even boil an egg by myself. Little by little I started experimenting with new ingredients and techniques and I loved every single minute of it. Find out more…
