Blood orange smoothie

March 14, 2016 By Mandarina Leave a Comment

IMG_7731Blood oranges 🙂 who doesn’t love them? Super juicy, a little bit tart, full of antioxidants and so pretty 🙂 It’s the perfect fruit to boost your immune system on these last days of winter. Why not make a pretty smoothie with these beauties?

As every smoothie will take maximum 5 minutes of your day J enjoy it for breakfast or as an afternoon snack.

I enjoyed one after a 20k run and I was super fresh and full of energy after drinking it.

Serving size : 2 persons

Ingredients

  • The juice of 3 fresh medium blood oranges
  • The juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 pealed blood oranges
  • 1 medium banana
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/3 tsp red pepper
  • 2 tbs sunflower seeds
  • 1/3 cup ice cubes
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds

Directions

  1. Put all the ingredients, except poppy seeds on the blender and blend for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add the poppy seeds and blend for 5 seconds.
  3. Pour into serving glasses and enjoy.

Enjoy

Welcome to Mandarina Yum!

mmMy name is Ejona Varangu and I am a full time researcher in the telecommunication industry, and part time food blogger. I blog from a small apartment in Tirana, Albania, where I live with my better half and our two cats Weirdo and Pixel.

I started cooking in late 2013, when I decided to live alone, and I missed the great homemade dishes that my mum prepared, before that, I couldn’t even boil an egg by myself. Little by little I started experimenting with new ingredients and techniques and I loved every single minute of it. Find out more…
